A CRAXFORD FAMILY PERSONAL HISTORY SURVEY

Introduction

Researching a family tree and unearthing long lost ancestors can be a fascinating and rewarding if at times frustrating occupation. If you think about it for a moment though, the information that we gather is quite tenuous, patchy, subject to misinterpretation, incomplete or just plain wrong. How much would any semi-serious researcher give for a few minutes of conversation with his great grandfather to ask a few simple questions to set the record straight?

I had experience of membership of an internet opinion site for some years and I am well aware of how popular questionnaires and mini-surveys can be. The purpose of this exercise is to record a few personal thoughts and other non-contentious items to store within the pages of this database so that they will be available in the future. Think of how you could help forthcoming generations researching their past and our present by giving them a little insight into you. I have already recorded my own baseline which is shown on my own page. So, if you would like to take part please copy the following question list and paste it into your favourite word processor. After you have completed it send it to me by email and I will add it to the site.

The list of questions is by no means exhaustive and was picked somewhat randomly (by me). Please feel free to add additional answers and comments at the end of your responses.
