The database and the other pages of this magazine are dedicated to the members of our extended family, both ancestral and current. On behalf of everyone here the editors hope that you have had a pleasant and interesting visit. This page is our gateway into the wider world of genealogy.
As the site administrator I had the very good fortune to come across the TNG site building software package in the early months of 2005: fortunate for a number of reasons. The software itself is expertly written and a pleasure to use – consisting of an industry standard database customised for genealogical purposes and a comprehensive set of templates devised to administer and present family information to our chosen audience. Implementation and development has been straightforward. For the web tyro (and for the comfort of the more experienced user) it comes as a most welcome and unexpected surprise to discover that the author of the software, Darrin Lythgoe, is very approachable. He is just as concerned about the needs of his end users as he is keeping the program advancing and seems to be forever on line, answering queries and offering helpful advice.
The software is now in its ninth full version. As the years pass by, the user base worldwide has continued to increase. Early on there was a web site which offered moderated forums to which end users could subscribe. There is also an active “notice board” serviced by email.
Over the course of the last few years, there has been a move to create a more collaborative framework for TNG users – the TNG Network – and the Craxford Family is both happy and proud to be associated with it. Registered members of the Network are listed on the directory page from the link in the next column. This list is being constantly updated. Once a web site is accepted its family data is pooled in the TNG Network’s central database. At year end (2010) there were 1835 linked web sites providing nearly eight and three quarter million records. If you haven’t found who you were looking for on our pages, we invite you to search the Network.
If you have any questions or comments about the information on this site, please contact us at

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding© ("TNG") is a powerful way to manage and display your genealogy data on the Internet, all without generating a single page of HTML. Instead, your information is stored in MySQL database tables and dynamically displayed in attractive fashion with PHP (a scripting language).
If your web server supports PHP and MySQL, you can set up and run TNG with very little effort. Don't settle for 'ancient' site creation methods that leave you with thousands of dull-looking HTML pages!
The current version of TNG is 9.0.3 (June 2012). Further information, full specifications, preview of user defined sites, downloads and purchase can be found at:
