Ten years on, Ezra and Mary have moved north to Clay Cross, a small town near Chesterfield, and have children of their own. Samuel (Mary's youngest son from her previous marriage) is listed as Ball. Also noted is coal miner and lodger, William Marriott. Although not yet established, it is likely that he is related to Mary - and probably her brother. On this occasion, all but two births are credited to South Normanton.
