Married:
- John Norseworthy, of full age, bachelor, mariner, living at Higher Penn, Staverton; father - Thomas Norseworthy, husbandsman. Mary Shepherd, of full age, spinster, servant, living at Pridhamsleigh, Staverton; father - Edward Shepherd, husbandsman. Neither were able to sign their own names, so made their mark. The marriage was solemnized at the Parish Church of Staverton, in the county of Devon, according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church, by me, William Marten, Vicar, on 11 February, 1841. Witnesses: Edward Shepherd made his mark; possibly "Sr" after it. The second witness signed his name, Edward Shepherd; possibly "Jr" after his name, but it is very unclear.
